#1 Essentials

Summer has officially arrived minus the sun! What better way to start the warm months ahead than sharing some of my favourite essentials. Not usually one for overly complicated beauty regimes I like to keep it simple and as natural as possible. No draws full of products and wardrobes crammed full of clothes. Refining my essentials over the years here are my top seven for the summer months ahead.

1. The Summer sandal – Birkenstock

Not the most feminine attractive shoes Birkenstocks are still one of my favorates for summer. They go with everything in your wardrobe and can be worn for hours on end in those busy outdoorsy summer months. my most worn pair is the minimal double strap Arizona leather in black. I’ve not found an outfit yet that these don’t go with. If you want a comfy, stylish minimal shoe get a pair of these!

2. Aesop must have’s

Summer or not the rosehip seed lip cream from Aesop is always in my bag. This hydrating lip cream is made of natural ingredients including coconut oil, citrus peel and Rosa fruit oil this makes for an amazing fresh smelling product that absorbs quickly and is non greasy unlike many lip creams. A little goes a long way with this product.

3. & Other Stories Cotton Care

When & Other Stories first opened I become obsessed with the hydrating Cotton Care range with cottonseed and vitamin E. With its delicate floral and soft peach scent its perfect for morning and night with its super hydrating properties it feels great on the skin with non-oily residue and soaks in within minutes.

4. Fragrance – Jo Malone English pear and Freesia

I’ve always been devotee to the Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay scent, over a year of wearing it it was time for a change of smell! This English pear and Freesia scent is a little more delicate and fresh so it’s great for the summer months and lasts for hours, which is what you need for a higher priced product like this.

5. Nars Geraldine – For that pop of colour

A brilliant orange red with satin finish, this formula stays put for hours! It looks scarily bright in the packaging but its one of the most wearable orange lipsticks I’ve found, use a little of this product and blend out with a brush for a diffused look.

6. Cowshed Cow Pat moisturising hand cream

For more of a refreshing scented hand cream rather than sweet use Cowshed Cow Pat. With grapefruit, orange and coriander to refresh the skin its not one people who hate strong scents. With it being so hydrating and so strong I’ve found the products lasts as you use a tiny amount each time.

7. Diptyque Baies - Summer scent

There’s nothing better on a summer morning than fresh white sheets, sun shining through the windows and this Diptyque Baies candle burning.  A scent of Blackcurrant leaves and Roses this fresh fruity scent fills the room in minutes.  I usually go for sweet fruity candles but with its floral notes this candle is more of a calming scent for when you have that much needed down time.
